There’s something so special about a wedding day that feels effortless from beginning to end, and Alyssa and Kaleb’s wedding on May 16th at Gate City Events in Canton, South Dakota was exactly that.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, these two celebrated the start of their marriage on a beautiful spring day filled with meaningful moments, joyful laughter, and so much love. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Alyssa and Kaleb had created a wedding day that reflected who they are—genuine, laid-back, and completely devoted to one another.

One of my favorite details from the day was the soft color palette. The bridesmaids wore beautiful butter yellow dresses that perfectly complemented the fresh spring scenery, while carrying elegant white calla lilies that added a timeless and sophisticated touch. Alyssa looked absolutely stunning in her classic gown, and Kaleb’s neutral suit tied everything together beautifully.

Gate City Events provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration. The venue’s charm, paired with the lush greenery that comes with a South Dakota spring, created endless opportunities for romantic portraits and candid moments throughout the day. One of my favorite portraits of Alyssa and Kaleb was taken among the trees, where the peaceful surroundings allowed them to simply soak in the excitement of becoming husband and wife.

What stood out most throughout the day was the way Alyssa and Kaleb looked at each other. Whether they were sharing a quiet moment alone, laughing with their bridal party, or celebrating on the dance floor, their connection was undeniable. These are the kinds of moments that make wedding photography so meaningful—the real, unscripted memories that tell the story of a couple’s relationship.
